United States. Field service and trades software
Housecall Pro pricing, and what everyone else charges
Housecall Pro is the most-quoted price in US field service software largely because it is one of the few actually published: $59, $149 and $299 a month billed annually. This index sets it beside every other vendor we could read a rate card from, records what each one charges FOR, and says plainly which three will not publish a number at all. Every figure carries the date it was read, because prices here move without announcement.

|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Housecall Pro Buyers who want the whole ladder visible before a call | Basic, $59 a month billed annually. It is the reference price in this index and the one most comparisons quote. | MAX at $299 a month billed annually, with Essentials at $149 between them. | Published prices ARE the annual ones, and the discount is uneven: $20 a month off Basic, $40 off Essentials and $30 off MAX. So monthly buyers pay $79, $189 and $329, and the middle tier carries by far the largest annual incentive. | A flat plan price. The tiers do not state how many users each includes, which is the single gap in an otherwise complete rate card. | QuickBooks Online sync sits on Essentials, not Basic. MAX includes a sales proposal tool the page values at $40 a month, which is a rare disclosure: it tells you what the vendor thinks the component is worth. | 15 August 2026 |
| ServiceM8 The only vendor here with a permanently free tier | $0 a month for 30 jobs and one user. Not a trial: a standing plan. Then $29 for 50 jobs. | Premium Plus at $349 a month for 1,500 or more jobs, with $79 and $149 tiers between. | Not published as a discount. It states no lock-ins and that you can upgrade or downgrade between plans at any time. | Jobs a month. The pricing page states 'we don't charge per user!' and gives unlimited users on every paid plan, so this is the only index entry whose price does not move when you hire. | 10c per SMS on the free tier only, 20c per job beyond the Premium Plus allotment, and a phone add-on from $19 a month with a one month free trial. | 15 August 2026 |
| Kickserv A fixed crew that fills a user bundle | Start, $60 a month for 5 users, which is $12.00 a user. | Scale at $199 a month for 20 users ($9.95 each), with Run at $119 for 10 ($11.90 each). | 20% off for an annual subscription, the largest published annual discount in this index and the only one expressed as a percentage. | Bundled users at 5, 10 and 20. The per-user curve is nearly flat: about 17% separates the cheapest bundle rate from the dearest. | QuickBooks Desktop is $50 a month extra while QuickBooks Online is included, so a Desktop shop is really looking at $110 rather than $60. A Kickback programme gives 5% off monthly fees for processing $1,000 to $3,000 in online payments depending on plan. | 15 August 2026 |
| Ambs Call Center Firms mixing human and AI answering on one account | 100 minutes for $149 a month on the human plan, or $19 a month on the AI tier. | 2,500 or more minutes at $2,945 a month, with $330, $600 and $1,195 tiers between. | Not published. | Minutes, calculated in 30 second increments and rounded up, with excess rates from $1.29 down to $1.20 a minute. | An $85 one time set up fee, the only published setup charge in this index. | 15 August 2026 |
| FieldPulse Nothing this index can price | Not published. Pricing is stated to be customized to team size and setup, with a custom quote in one conversation. | Not published. Three tiers are named, Essentials, Professional and Enterprise, with features but no figures. | Not published. | Seats, of two kinds: full access and limited field. The most precise unit in this index and the one you cannot see a number for. | Engage, Operator AI, Pricebook, Payments, Financing, Fleet Tracking and Custom Forms are all priced per line or per license, none published. | 15 August 2026 |
| ServiceTitan Large operations with an agreed budget | Not published. Starter, Essentials and The Works each carry a Request Pricing button in place of a figure. | Not published. | Not published. | Technicians, which is the most expensive basis if your office staff outnumber your vans. | Not published, including implementation, which for a platform of this size is usually the largest line in year one. | 15 August 2026 |
| FieldEdge Contractors who want guided onboarding over self serve | Not published. Select, Premier and Elite are named with no figure against any of them. | Not published. | Not published. | Not published. The page states plans can be customized with add-ons so pricing can vary. | Not published. It does state there is no free trial, because it prefers guided onboarding, and that downgrades are permitted only at the end of the current contract period. | 15 August 2026 |
How this index is built, and what it refuses to do
Seven US vendors whose pricing pages were read on 15 August 2026. Every figure is copied from the vendor's own page; nothing comes from a review site, a listicle or a reseller, and nothing is estimated.
Order runs by how completely the vendor publishes: full rate cards first, then vendors publishing nothing. That is the axis an index can actually measure, and it is deliberately not a quality ranking.
Every entry carries the date it was read. An index without dates is a snapshot pretending to be a fact, and pricing in this category changes without announcement.
Where a vendor publishes nothing the cell says not published. That is a finding rather than a hole: three of seven decline, and knowing which three before you start is worth more than any of the numbers.

Software Pricing Index is an independent site operated by Ellul Solutions Ltd. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to any software vendor named here, and nothing on it is contractual advice. We take no commission from any vendor and carry no paid placements. Prices change without notice: every figure carries the date it was read on the vendor's own page, derived figures are marked as derived, and the costs most likely to decide a first year budget, notably implementation fees and card processing rates, are published by almost nobody in this market.
US field service software price index, read 15 August 2026
Last updated
Published plan prices for every US field service vendor whose rate card could be read on one day, with the annual and monthly figures separated because most comparisons quote one and label it the other.
Every row is copied from the vendor's own pricing page on 15 August 2026. Housecall Pro publishes annual prices, so its monthly column is derived by adding the saving that same page states ($20, $40 and $30 a month by tier) and is marked as derived here rather than presented as published. Kickserv publishes monthly prices and states 20% off annually without publishing the resulting figure, so its annual column reads not published rather than being calculated. ServiceM8 publishes one price per plan with no annual variant stated. Where a vendor publishes no figure the cell says not published, which describes its page on that date and is not a claim that no price exists. No averages, no estimates, no vendor-supplied numbers we could not read ourselves.

- Four of seven US field service vendors publish a rate card; three show a Request Pricing button or offer a custom quote instead.
- Housecall Pro's annual saving is uneven across its ladder at $20, $40 and $30 a month, with the largest incentive on the middle tier.
- The cheapest standing plan in the index is $0: ServiceM8's free tier for 30 jobs a month and one user, which is a plan rather than a trial.
- The seven vendors price against six different units: flat plans, jobs, bundled users, minutes, seats and technicians.
- Only one vendor in the index, Ambs Call Center at $85, publishes a one time setup fee; the three publishing no price disclose no implementation fee either.

Common questions
How much does Housecall Pro cost?
Housecall Pro publishes three tiers billed annually: Basic at $59 a month, Essentials at $149 and MAX at $299, read on 15 August 2026. Monthly billing costs $79, $189 and $329, because the published annual saving is $20, $40 and $30 a month respectively. The annual incentive is largest on the middle tier. No tier states how many users it includes, which is the one figure missing from an otherwise complete rate card.
What does each Housecall Pro tier add?
Essentials adds routes, flat rate pricing, checklist automations, photo reports, employee GPS tracking, commissions and QuickBooks Online sync. MAX adds a sales proposal tool the page values at $40 a month, recurring service plans, route optimization, open API access and a dedicated onboarding specialist. Two of those usually decide the tier: QuickBooks sync is on Essentials rather than Basic, and recurring service plans are on MAX only, so a maintenance-led firm cannot buy either lower tier.
Which field service software publishes its prices?
Four of the seven vendors in this index. Housecall Pro, ServiceM8, Kickserv and Ambs Call Center all publish full rate cards. ServiceTitan, FieldEdge and FieldPulse publish none, showing a Request Pricing button or offering a custom quote instead. The three that decline are the three aimed at larger multi-truck operations, and none of them discloses an implementation fee either.
What is the cheapest field service software?
ServiceM8 runs a permanently free tier at $0 a month for 30 jobs and one user, which is a standing plan rather than a trial, then $29 for 50 jobs with unlimited users on every paid plan. Housecall Pro's Basic is $59 a month billed annually and Kickserv's Start is $60 for 5 users. Cheapest depends on your ratio of jobs to people, because those three vendors charge for three different things.
Is annual billing worth it?
It is a real saving and it is committed at the moment you know least. Kickserv publishes 20% off for an annual subscription, the largest discount in this index. Housecall Pro's published prices are already the annual ones, saving $20 to $40 a month against monthly. The practical approach is to run the trial and the first months monthly, then switch to annual at renewal once the thing is embedded, because the first-year discount is rarely worth as much as the option to leave.
What costs sit outside the plan price?
The accounting sync is the big one: Kickserv charges $50 a month more for QuickBooks Desktop against Online included, and Housecall Pro places QuickBooks Online sync on its $149 tier rather than its $59 one. Beyond that, Ambs Call Center publishes an $85 setup fee, ServiceM8 charges 10c per SMS on its free tier and 20c per job over its top allotment, and no vendor here publishes a card processing rate at all.
Why does this index show a date on every price?
Because software pricing in this category changes without announcement, and a comparison that does not say when it was read is worth very little six months later. Every figure on this page was read from the vendor's own pricing page on 15 August 2026 and carries that date in its own row. Where a vendor publishes nothing, the cell says not published rather than carrying an estimate.
